Statement

As an artist, I am captivated by the interplay of light and movement, themes that I explore through watercolor. My subjects range from animals and landscapes to people in motion, particularly dancers, each brought to life with vibrant colors and dynamic compositions. Originally from Poland, I moved to the United States at the age of 19, and discovered the Students' Art League in New York City, where I focused on nude drawing. This experience provided me with a strong foundation in anatomy and movement, essential elements in my work. By day, I teach mathematics at a high school, a role that might seem worlds apart from art. However, I find that the logical thinking required in math complements the intuitive process of creating art. This balance exercises both sides of my brain and enriches my creative practice. Art is my true passion, and each piece I create is a reflection of my fascination with the world around me. Through my watercolors, I strive to capture the fleeting beauty of light and the essence of movement, sharing my unique perspective with others.
